Instructions for
Wireless ActiveSync
You must have Wireless Internet approved first
by Larry Keating before this will operate.

Step 1:
Click Start ->

2: Click ActiveSync ->
|

Step 3:
Click -> set up your device to sync with it.
|

Step 4: Enter owa.ku.edu as the Server address. Make sure
the "This server requires an encrypted(SSL) connection" box is checked.
Click Next.

Step 5: Enter the
following information, then click Next. If you would
like your password saved, check the "Save password box.
- User name: Your KU Online ID Username (same as
your KU email username)
- Password: Your KU Online ID Password (KU email
password)
- Domain: home

Step 6: By default
your phone will include the previous 3 days of emails. To change, first
highlight E-mail, then click Menu > Settings. Once you have
checked the data you want to synchronize. Click Finish
***Checking contacts will combine the contacts you
have on your phone with the contacts you have on your computers Outlook.
If you do this, you can easily organize all your contacts from your
computer. You don't have to worry about losing you contacts if something
ever happens to your phone. If you don't want to combine your contacts,
uncheck contacts.

Step 7: Tap on Sync at
the bottom
Step 8: If everything was entered correctly, you
should see the "Synchronizing" screen.
By Default your phone will sync "as items arrive". This means your
phone gets your emails the same time your computer does. Your phone will
also send out emails in real-time.
